Academician Huang Xirun devotes himself to the interdisciplinary field of modernized traditional Chinese medicine and synthetic biology. He innovatively interprets the biomedical connotation of TCM Yin-Yang theory and builds a national-level research platform for synthetic biology. He possesses a number of core invention patents and has made breakthroughs in key technologies including Chinese herbal extraction, nano delivery and natural green preservation systems. He founded a high-tech bioenterprise recognized as a Specialized, Refined, Unique and Innovative enterprise, realizing the marketization and industrialization of scientific research achievements. In addition, he actively promotes exchanges among young people from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, participates in regional political consultation, and engages in rural public welfare undertakings. He is an interdisciplinary biomedical expert integrating academic research, industrial transformation and public service.

He completed his postdoctoral training under the supervision of Professor Lin Wenjie. He holds concurrent academic appointments including Adjunct Professor at Guangdong Medical University, Visiting Professor and Industrial Supervisor at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Visiting Professor and Project Lead at Chengde Medical University, and Distinguished Expert Professor at the Biomedical Industrial Park of Jinan University. He has yielded abundant multi-dimensional research achievements in biomedical enterprises and relevant institutions.
